For customers who purchase Petrie boots from us, we offer a one-year grace period: the zips will be inserted at no extra cost. In other situations, we charge a fixed rate of £49.50 per zip. Our service process guarantees that the zips will be professionally inserted within 2 to 3 working days, with an eye for both functionality and durability.
This approach not only makes your boots quicker and easier to put on, but also prevents unnecessary wear and tear on the lining material and the heel counter. In this way, we combine practical ease of use with careful consideration of maintenance costs.
2. Stretching boots: options and points to consider
Leather boots can often be stretched by up to 1.5 cm. The extent to which this is possible depends on several factors, such as the type of outer leather, the quality of the lining and the stiffness of the boot. The position and construction of any zips or other fastening details also play a role.
It is important to know that leather tends to return to its original shape over time, especially if the boots are not worn for long periods.
